Research Interest:

My research mainly focuses on stereotypes and prejudice from both the target and the perpetrator’s perspectives.  My first line of research examines when and why women will or will not confront the sexism that they face. I am particularly interested in the role that social costs and the benefits of confronting discrimination play in predicting women’s responses to discrimination, as well as individual differences that influence women to respond to discrimination. Second, my research aims to reduce perpetrators’ negative attitudes toward outgroups. Specifically, I examine how providing individuals with social consensus information (information about other’s beliefs) effects their attitudes and behaviors toward outgroup members.
