The Department of Psychology strives to advance the scientific understanding of human behavior through research, teaching, and community engagement. Our faculty are recognized scholars and mentors with research interests in four primary areas: 1) causes and consequences of social problems 2) cognition and aging 3) health and behavior and 4) the psychology of children in home and school. Our undergraduate major, one of the largest in the College of Arts & Sciences, actively engages students in research, teaching, and community internships through the Allport Project. We offer graduate training in four areas:Clinical, Experimental, School, and Social Psychology. Together, our faculty and students seek to make discoveries that are exciting and important and share a passion for understanding why people think, feel, and act as they do.
